Mission Australia Thanks Supporters on Annual Gratitude Day

Mission Australia marked World Gratitude Day by thanking its donors for their generous support of the national charity’s efforts to end homelessness and support people across the country experiencing hardship

What is Gratitude Day?

On 17 September, Mission Australia celebrated the charity’s second Gratitude Day, with over 100 staff, spanning frontline workers through to senior leaders and our CEO, Sharon Callister, reaching out to donors to express appreciation for their continued support and to highlight the impact of their generosity.

In 2025, Mission Australia supported 141,552 people in Australia through 494 services and provided accommodation and support for tenants in its 4,876 social and affordable homes.

This Gratitude Day, 1,807 calls were made, alongside the delivery of 500 handwritten cards, around 30,000 emails and 23,552 texts, letting thousands of supporters know that we appreciate their contribution to Mission Australia’s work.

“Gratitude Day is our chance to offer a sincere thank you to all of our supporters for their kindness and the care they show to people in need."

“Last year was our first Gratitude Day and it was wonderful to speak with supporters and let them know how much we appreciate them. I enjoyed picking up the phone again and having meaningful conversations with the people who help make our work possible."

“Reflecting on the day, our staff said it was a great opportunity to connect with donors, while our supporters appreciated the friendly call, with many of them sharing stories about why they give to Mission Australia."
