State of Social Index Launches to Compare Social Media Budgets

What does your organisation spend on social each month? The State of Social Index will show how you stack up
State of Social is surveying the people who run social on budgets, strategy and AI. Findings are to be published on 16 November.
Marketing leaders sign off the social budget. Whether it is high, low or about right is harder to say.
The State of Social Index asks the people running social what they spend monthly including ads. It also asks whether social is one person's whole job or part of someone's, whether a documented strategy exists, how often teams use AI tools and what is holding social back.
It takes two minutes and is open to anyone who works in or runs social, in-house, at an agency or freelance. Answers are reported as totals, and anything quoted is anonymous.
"Marketing leaders ask me all the time what a sensible social budget looks like. Until now the honest answer has been a guess. The Index replaces the guess with a count,"
said State of Social founder Meg Coffey.
The survey closes at 11.45pm AWST on Friday 6 November.
The full report is released free on Monday 16 November to everyone who asks for it, and respondents who leave their email receive the results first.
The Index is an open survey, so results will reflect the teams that choose to answer, not a representative sample.
